[Personality]:

Ratonhnhaké:ton is loyal, determined, and at times quite impetuous. He may not be the most eloquent with words, or the most poised at social interaction but underneath it all he has a good heart, is compassionate towards others and wants to strive toward a better future, not just for him but also for people in general. While he is more inclined to look out for the other Kanien'kehá:ka (members of his tribe) there are plenty of examples when he's persuaded or feels compelled to extend assistance to others. Ratonhnhaké:ton is not someone who would be content to stand idly by and do nothing. No, he wants to take an active role in the world, and is frustrated at times when others don't share his sense of duty. Freedom is what he desires most, and he can't understand when others are treated differently or oppressed based solely on the color of their skin. His willingness to listen to others and be more openminded has left him open to being deceived from time to time, and he can be a bit naive. He does not have much of a sense of humor (And fails to get many of the jokes he hears), he tends to be more serious and goal-oriented.

There are a few events in Ratonhnhaké:ton's childhood that would play a pivotal role in how he was shaped. In the absence of his father, Haytham Kenway, he was raised solely by his mother, Kaniehtí:io. Kaniehtí:io was always a strong individual who deeply cared for her son but even with her presence he couldn't help but wonder about what sort of person his father was. This curiosity would follow him into adulthood, and it would also cause him to hold doubts as to his to best deal with the Templar Grandmaster. Ratonhnhaké:ton had hopes that somehow the two of them might be able to put aside their differences, and that maybe he would not have to kill him in the end. Unfortunately, that was not to be.. and with much regret he did end up having to take his own father's life. This difficult decision was not something he took lightly and it was not one that would be swiftly forgotten.

Another event that transpired in his youth was his altercation with Charles Lee. Lee threatened the boy, even going as far as to strangle him before eventually letting him go. Therefore when Ratonhnhaké:ton returned to his village and found it had been set ablaze it was only natural that he assumed Lee had something to do with it and subsequently this lead to his desire to track down the Templars and put an end to them (Somewhat ironically, it turned out to be George Washington's orders that led to his villages demise). His mother did not survive the fire, leaving Ratonhnhaké:ton essentially orphaned save for the rest of his tribe. This undoubtedly led to his desire to want to be more self sufficient and independent. This is why even though they might have been the same age or near enough to it, Ratonhnhaké:ton had to teach one of his childhood friends how to hunt and forage.

When he finally left the village he sought out Achilles in order to be trained in the ways of the assassin. Achilles refuses, and this scenario displays just how determined and obstinate Ratonhnhaké:ton can be. Instead of giving up, he camps out near Achilles house until he finally gets the opportunity to change the others mind about training him.

Ratonhnhaké:ton is more apt to help an individual in distress than an organization. An example of this is when a logger falls into the river and is in danger of going over the falls, he thinks nothing of going to save this man. Conversely, when called upon by the Sons of Liberty for help he is more inclined to refuse.. unless it's something that will draw him closer to his targets. He holds a bit of mistrust for the colonists but not to the point that he cannot be reasoned with. He never shakes hands right away, not until he's sure of the others integrity. The more he's exposed to the colonists, and works with them the more readily he agrees to help them. Seeing how the colonists are being oppressed by England speaks directly to his own sense of justice, and if the country is to move forward he sees that the colonists would be most likely to achieve it if they were free to do so.

An example of his being a bit quick to act comes from when he was tracking down Benjamin Church with his father. Church had betrayed the Templars so in this odd turn of events, Haytham and Ratonnhnaké:ton agreed to work together. Both wanted to track him down for different reasons. In one instance the two needed to flee the area. They were in an enclosed space, so while Haytham was trying to be careful plotting their escape, Ratonhnhaké:ton just burst through a wall despite Haytham's trying to stop him. His emotions can get in the way and have before. He will ignore the people he respects, like Achilles, and run headlong into situations that set him off. Something else that is striking during his mission with Haytham is that Conner is less likely to torture others for information and is shown multiple times being disgusted by the way his father kills people when it is not necessary.

Despite everything that happened, including when George Washington had his village torched, Achilles death, his people being relocated, Ratonhnaké:ton doesn't give up. Those events caused him sadness and pain but he arrives at the decision to keep striving for what he believes in even if not everything is always going to go his way. Those events were a wake-up call, one that he handles maturely.

Then we have the alternate universe...

Ratonhnhaké:ton starts out by being terribly confused by all of it. No longer wearing his assassin clothes he's first greeted by his should-be-deceased mother who later informs him of George Washington's having become an insufferable tyrant. This news is met with great disbelief since by this time Ratonhnhaké:ton has come to think of Washington as a man of reason if nothing else and someone he called his friend, who would never dream of doing the things he's been charged with. Unfortunately in this reality it is true, and he once again has to witness his mother's death, and have to take up the job she was working on to steal the apple from Washington. He wants to try to talk some sense into him but in this reality that's not likely to work.

He holds great respect for Samuel Adams and the work he has done. This respect remains with him in this alternate reality.

As time progresses in this alternate universe arc, Ratonhnhaké:ton runs the risk of being consumed by his own lust for power. Each trip to the Sky World brings him more strength, each instance he has to make the conscious decision to pursue a questionable path. Though he might try to deny it he does derive a sense of satisfaction in being able to call upon these unique abilities that draw him closer and closer to becoming virtually unstoppable. In order to stop King George and combat the apple, Ratonhnhaké:ton will stop at nothing to get to the desired results. He ignores the visions of his mother outright warning him of the danger, and hesitates when King George asks him what he'd do if he possessed the apple for himself. There is a real struggle, an internal conflict within Ratonhnhaké:ton that draws attentions to the fact that with great power comes great responsibility. That in one person's hands unparallelled strength can be used either to oppress or free people. Whether Ratonhnhaké:ton will choose the correct path or not is still up in the air from the canon point I'm pulling him from.

In conclusion, Ratonhnhaké:ton is a human with his own strengths, weaknesses, and flaws. He's courageous, determined and has a strong sense of justice. He doesn't understand the need for discrimination against those that are different from you, and often tries to free people from their imprisonment. Ratonhnhaké:ton can be too headstrong, impulsive, and stubborn. Even though he is against torture, in a weak moment after the death of his father he has a bought where he acts more coldly and cruelly to others he encounters. He is not perfect, and is prone to letting emotions like sorrow or despair convince him to behave in ways he would rather not. He is a a bit naive at times, which leads to many an unpleasant surprise later in life but he is also a survivor that can learn from his mistakes, and move on from them.

[Abilities / Strengths & Weaknesses]:

Ratonhnhaké:ton has acquired a variety of abilities over the years both from following in the steps of his people and also from the assassin training he received from Achilles.

Freerunning: Ratonhnhaké:ton is able to race easily across not only rooftops but also tree branches. Trees are not as forgiving, and can grow too far apart hindering this ability, but he can compensate for that by swinging from one surface to the next. Along the lines of this category, he's also excellent at scaling natural surfaces and manmade structures.

Weapons: He's skilled in using a variety of weapons. Like most assassins he's rarely without his hidden blades. In addition to those he can use a bow, tomahawk, pistol, rope darts, and a sword (just to name a few).

Ambidextrous: Ratonhnhaké:ton is able to wield weapons with either hand.

Previous sailing experience: Aboard the Aquila, he engaged in a few naval battles. He was taught how to sail and captain by Robert Faulkner. Before meeting this man, Ratonhnhaké:ton didn't know the difference between a boat ans a ship. His lack of inexperience aboard a vessel was laughable to the old captain but over time Ratonhnhaké:ton gained the necessary experience.

Survival Skills: Living with his native tribe, Ratonhnhaké:ton had to learn how to hunt, track, and forage. He knows how to skin animals and in turn how to use their skins efficiently enough.

Eagle Vision: This skill gives him the ability to sense who his enemies are and locate tracks. When this skill is used, it's as if people are surrounded by a variety of auras that indicate whether they are a threat or not. Not surprisingly red indicates either an enemy or traces of blood. White shows where hidden locations or information resides. Yellow indicates where objects are located or targets. Then finally blue is reserved for allies. Ratonhnhaké:ton has to be consciously trying to use this ability, so it is not something that he uses all the time.

Alpha of the Pack: Employing this skill, he's able to summon three wolf spirits to fight on his behalf.

Power of the Wolf: He's able to move stealthily and go undetected while this power is in effect.

Power of the Eagle: Taking on the form of an eagle briefly, he's able to increase his agility and fly to locations that are within his range of sight. It is not as effective for long distances, only short spurts.

Power of the Bear: By calling on the spirit of the bear, he's able to shake the Earth and deal damage to people and things near him in a radial arc. This power is the most taxing and draining for Ratonhnhaké:ton to utilize.

Some of his weaknesses stem from his personality. His impulsiveness and quick temper can get him into some dicey situations. When he is emotionally invested in something, it can cause him not to take the words of the people he respects into consideration. There are multiple times where Achilles has tried to talk Ratonhnhaké:ton out of acting rashly (As did Ziio in the DLC) but being head strong he did it anyway and has had to face some hard life lessons because of it.

[Limited Powers]:

As it was stated before, Power of the Eagle or Eagle flight is limited already. Ratonhnhaké:ton can only use it to "fly" to places he can see, and they can't be that far away. Also it should be noted that all of the powers he acquired from the spirits, come with built in consequences. They take a lot out of Ratonhnhaké:ton. The more he uses them the weaker he'll become. Summoning the power of the bear is the most tasking, plus he probably would not try to use it while on board a vessel. The wooden boards might not be able to take the force.

Weapons can break, grow dull, or run out of ammunition. While that's not a problem in the video game, it's something I will be thinking about in an rp setting.

For Eagle Vision, I am planning on including a permissions post for other players to indicate whether this skill would work in regards to their characters or not and what aura their muse would possess. It is not a power I would expect him to use all the time, but more sparingly.

None of this is right. This land, these people... I should not be here. None of this is making any sense.

[There was a slight delay in the written words, as it's author took a moment to collect his thoughts.]

I've read what this person known only as "Scurvy Dog" had to say but that is not enough.

[How much information should he reveal up front? Had he not been anxious to finish what he'd started, he might have held back more than he ended up accomplishing. Besides, journals couldn't really deliver your words to others, could they? Not without having been sent by other means]

I've lost contact with Thomas Jefferson. Worse than that... I do not know what's become of George Washington. He must be stopped, at any cost.
